Privacy policy
Learning without asking children for personal details
The reading and listening features introduced by this project do not require a child to create an account, provide a name or upload a photograph. Children should not enter their name, school, address, telephone number or other private information into search fields or messages. A parent or guardian should handle questions that require contact details.
Technical information and search requests
Our website and hosting services may process an IP address, browser details, search terms, requested pages and request times. This information helps deliver pages, protect the service and investigate faults. Please keep personal details out of search fields.
Preferences and cookies
Language selection is carried in the page address. When you choose a language, a functional cookie can remember that language on this website; it contains the language code, not a personal profile. The new language and reading controls do not create an advertising profile or require a cross-site tracking identifier. Existing functions elsewhere in the project, such as contact forms or administrative access, may use their own necessary technical settings. Browser controls can restrict cookies and clear stored website data.
Preparing learning materials
We use educational article and interface text to prepare learning materials. This work does not require children’s reading histories or personal details.
External content and contact messages
Articles can include links or embedded media from other providers. Loading an external website or embedded content can share technical information with that provider and is subject to its own policies. If an adult contacts the project, the information they choose to provide may be used to reply and investigate the report. Please do not send unnecessary information about a child.
Questions, corrections and requests
A parent or guardian can contact the project about privacy or information they have submitted. Include enough detail to identify the issue, but do not send passwords or a child’s sensitive information. External websites have their own privacy practices.
